Deaf Ministry

In the spring of 2016 the Beelers started a Bible study in their home in Cuenca, Ecuador. That Bible study soon became Iglesia Bautista el Peregrino (Pilgrim Baptist Church). After the Beelers were forced to returned to the United States in December of 2017 the church continued on as if they had never left. Even through the pandemic of 2020 Pilgrim Baptist Church survived, and even prospered. One of the ministries begun after the Beelers returned to the States, was a ministry to the deaf community of Cuenca, a group of people who are ignored by most churches in Ecuador. Pastor Mauricio Bermeo has reached out to the dozens of families in Cuenca who because of their hearing impairment have little hope of ever being exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This short video below is an example of this marvelous ministry to a forgotten segment of Ecuadorian society.
