BEFORE I WAS A MISSIONARY

I have learned a few things since God called me to be a missionary. Below are just a few of the more important things I have learned:

  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t really understand how much people need Jesus.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t know it was possible to be homesick and content at the same time.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t know that people in church are more important than their leaders.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t really understand what it means to die to self.
  • Before I was a missionary, I had never seen my breath in church.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t really know what it is to live by faith.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t know how important prayer is.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t ever miss eating at McDonalds.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t think I would ever speak another language.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t understand how important it is for me to love my enemies.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t ever want to leave the USA, now I don’t want to go back.
  • Before I was a missionary, I didn’t know I could be so poor, and yet be richer than almost all men.
